* Recognise hazards in the work area and report to designated personnel according to workplace procedures * Accurately follow workplace procedures and work instructions for controlling risk, applicable to general context * Follow workplace procedures for dealing with accidents, fires and emergencies whenever necessary within scope of responsibilities and competencies * Raise occupational health and safety issues with designated personnel in accordance with workplace procedures and relevant occupational health and safety legislation * Contribute to participative arrangements for occupational health and safety management in the workplace within organisational procedures and scope of responsibilities and competencies

* Evidence of ability to follow emergency procedures and contribute to participative arrangements may be gathered through simulations * This unit of competency should be assessed through the observation of processes and procedures, oral and/or written questioning on required knowledge and skills and consideration of required attitudes * Where performance is not directly observed and/or is required to be demonstrated over a "period of time" and/or in a "number of locations", any evidence should be authenticated by colleagues, supervisors, clients or other appropriate persons
